This is a unique opportunity to take in the natural beauty of the Welsh Mountain and enjoy the Brandywine and Conestoga Valley country sides at the Lanchester Landfill. Yes, that's right, landfill. The trail is a mix of dirt, gravel, paved, and some rubber shreds in the open and in the woods. Along the trail there are benches, picnic tables, and information stations along with bird and bat houses. The nature trail is only open on Sundays for a limited period of time, each year, so the hike leader is unable to scout it beforehand. Meet at the parking lot behind Arby's in the Parkesburg Walmart shopping at the intersection of Routes 10 and 30. Address: 800 Commons Drive, Parkesburg, PA. Parking is limited at the landfill so, we'll car pool to the trailhead. Bring a snack and water.
