Meet HL Larry Priori,484-459-5445 (c),for a moderately paced hike in the Lehigh Valley. We'll hike up parts of the beautiful Glen Onoko Falls Trail, loop over to the 1000 steps, visit the abandoned rail tunnel and explore a trail on the East side of the River. Sturdy hiking boots required. Gloves recommended. Optional stop at Riverwalk post hike .Directions: Take NE Extension of PA Turnpike (I476) north to Mahoning Valley Exit. Take Route 209 South through Lehighton to Jim Thorpe, Pa. Turn right across bridge on PA Route 903 and then immediate left on Main Street. At about 1/4 mile, watch for a small sign on the left for Lehigh Gorge, Glen Onoko. Continue on this road to parking lot just before bridge over river. Look for my silver Honda CRV with tailgate open. Bring water, lunch, snacks, and a sense of humor. Leave time for some traffic congestion in Jim Thorpe. We will not be doing the closed portion of the Falls Trail, but will do the upper section.
