Join HL Joe Kiczek (C) 484-639-8824, jskiczek@verizon.net, for this backpacking trip of 3 nights and 4 days. We’ll do AT Sections 6 to 9 in Shenandoah NP for a total of 46± miles.
Trip begins at Swift Run Gap and ends at Rockfish Gap. May 19th is a travel day and first night will be at an Airbnb arranged by Alan Alvarez for his group who will be hiking with us but not backpacking. We will meet up with Alan each morning at nearby trailheads.
Day 1 will be 11.5 miles from Swift Run Gap to Pinefield Hut, Day 2 will be 13.5 miles to Blackrock Hut, Day 3 will be 13 miles to Calf Mountain Shelter, Day 4 will be 7.5 miles to Rockfish Gap.
We will carpool for travel and shuttle with Alan’s group at end of trip.
