Meet HL Jim Lertola, 484-883-9021, for a Class B, 5-mile hike, with 500-ft elevation gain. Loop trail through mature forest and fields, skirting the Big Elk Creek for part. Primarily rolling hills with a few steep climbs.
Directions: From Kennett Square, go west on Baltimore Pike to the light in Toughkenamon. Turn left onto Newark Road. Go 3.7 mi and turn right onto Buttonwood Road. Go 0.6 mi and turn right onto Broad Run Road. Go 0.5 mi and turn right onto Good Hope Road. Go 2.3 mi and turn left onto Flint Hill Road. Go 2.4 mi and bear right onto Elbow Lane. Go 0.2 mi and turn left onto Appleton Road in Cecil County, MD. Go 0.5 mi and turn right onto Black Bridge Road. Go 1.2 mi and turn right onto Tawes Drive. Go 0.1 mi till you reach the Fair Hill Nature Center on your left, but turn right to enter the large parking lot.
