Trail Maintenance

  • 9 miles of the Horse-Shoe Trail from White Horse and Rees Road to the intersection of the Horse-Shoe Trail Road and Dunsinane Road.
  • 25 miles of the Brandywine Trail from the Horse-Shoe Trail north of Ludwig's Corner to Chadds Ford at PA Route 1.
  • 21 miles of the Mid-County Trail from the Struble Trail to Lenape, via Mortonville.
  • 5 miles of the Mason-Dixon Trail from Chadds Ford to Kossart and Fairville Roads.

Ongoing trail maintenance involves cutting back encroaching plant growth (multi-flora rose, blackberry, wine berry canes, and young saplings), clearing blow downs, and freshening paint blazes.

Bring whatever tools you have and join CCTC in maintaining our adopted trails. Call the hike leader listed on the hike schedule for details of the planned work hike.

Work hikes are scheduled each quarter. They are color-coded red on the Hiking Calendar. If you enjoy camaraderie, working in the great outdoors, and have lots energy, join us on a scheduled work hike!
